Fun with Trees and Trails

This. Is. The Berkshires!

Today is our last full day here at the Stroock Northern Strategic Direction. Overcast and damp. It’s an inside day. Oh well.

This being the Berkshires the tree guy never showed up. He said his truck broke down. The tree guy did show up this morning, and confusion followed. This is going to take a while to sort out.

We had a fine day yesterday. We took 2/3rds of the girls on the Appalachian Trail, which runs about half a mile from the house. We encountered this man who started the trail in Georgia. We had a short, pleasant chat and followed his FB page. Afterwards, we cut through the woods and made it back to our main road.

We took the boat out in the afternoon and later in the evening. Between jaunts we chained sawed some stuff, broke our chainsaw, took our chainsaw apart and put it back together, and then chain sawed some more stuff.

Overall, a fine, fine day.

Stroock's Books has admitted that Trump can win. We now admits that the DeSantis campaign needs work. We still declare that in the long run these machinations won't matter. For as long as the Dems control the means of counting, they will win, and the next president, (Gavin, Kamala, Jill?) will be a Democrat.

At least House Speaker Keving McCarthy (Weakling, Paul Ryanland) is now talking about an impeachment inquiry aimed at Joe. This is the only move that matters. Impeaching Joe is only a start.

In other political news, we are reliably informed by our man on the ground in Canada that Justin is trouble.

In Israel The JPost reports, 'Former Mossad director Tamir Pardo on Thursday framed the government's ongoing judicial overhaul along with actions by some of the more extreme ministers as a process with parallels to the Ku Klux Klan, in an interview with KAN radio.' The more unhinged the rhetoric, the closer the opposition is to defeat. Exit question, if/when the final judicial overhaul passes the Knesset, will the opposition riot?

Also from the Jerusalem Post: ‘Taken together the various threats, from Hezbollah’s provocations on the northern border, to the rocket in the northern West Bank, and Iran’s actions in Syria, all point to a larger process. This is an attempt to “unify” various fronts against Israel.’ Meanwhile, thousands of Israeli reservists are refusing to show up because they don’t like a tweak to the nation’s high court. We halfway think that the Judicial Overhaul (can’t decide if we should be capitalizing that or not) will go through and then nothing will happen.
