This morning the groin pull his heeling but as we've been walking funny for several days, our foot is bothering us. This is expected, actually. At this point we're just hoping to be heeled by the time we hit the beach two Saturdays from now. We have reached the seriously fucked off phase of the groin pull.
This is the dank part of a Yankee summer. The air is humid and heavy. The son is hot. The sky overcast. There's no summertime feeling now. Just humidity and heat.
Overall, we are not in the most humanistic mood.
Yesterday we watched with Oldest Daughter a zoom presentation about applying to and attending a non Historically Black University in Washington DC. The campus seemed pretty cool, detached yet urban. We recognized landmarks immediately and kept saying, 'We know where that is,' to Oldest Daughter's eye rolls. Despite living in the DC metro area for six years, we only every drove past the campus.
We declare ourselves officially bored with the Israel/Bibi drama. United Torah Judaism (one of the Haredi parties) is backing off support of the judicial reform law in favor of ramming through a complex Haredi draft law. The JPOST describes UTJ stance on the draft thusly, 'Haredi leaders maintain that Torah study is an essential service to the country – and have even proposed a Basic Law to that effect – and that their military service is not needed.' These men study Toray all day and collect welfare while their wives work. C'mon, Blue and Whites. Get your act together.
What Will's Watching: HBO's Rome. [You hadn't watched Rome before?-Ed]. No. One episode in. So far, so good, and just enough nudity to keep us happy. [Wanker-Ed]. Holy crap! John Milius! Also we're rewatching Margin Call for at least the 6th time this summer, and Firefly. If you don't like Firefly, we don't want you reading this blog.
Another good day with World War 1990: Norway, in which we read the interlude chapter between the battle of Banak and the Battle of Lyngen Fjord. Lyngen Fjord today. We also had a good day with World War 1990: The Final Storm and are halfway through the SAS's raid on REDACTED.
