Will's Good Idea for the week of 10/16/23

We finally managed to take a whole weekend off.

We're resuming semi-regular blogging today. 

Our new gym schedule, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, is working out fine. Yesterday was our first full workout in a couple of weeks. We've no foot pain this morning. Progress?

An impressive win for the Jets over Mrs. Stroock's Eagles. The Jets remain alive. 

We haven't done anything on Gab for a month now. Lost opportunity given the current crisis? Natan Nagid has calmed down a bit. 

We woke up this morning anxious to see if Israel's ground invasion has begun. It hasn't. Israel prepares. We've seen multiple photos of Israeli vehicles equipped with top-slat armor cages to repel drones. They'll also have Trophy anti-missile systems. 

Numerous news outlets report that the US has talked Israel out of a preemptive strike on Hezbollah with promises of American intervention should Hezbollah attack.  Once again, this blog thinks America should stay out of the war. Meanwhile, skirmishing continues on the Lebanese border. A strong care can be made for Israel turning around and slapping Hezbollah, at least with a Desert Storm style aerial campaign. Elint News describes Israel's norhtern air defenses, '10 batteries of Iron Dome 2 batteries of David’s Sling, 6 batteries of Patriot PAC-2, 2 batteries of Arrow 2, 1 battery of Arrow 3.' Exit question: is Iron Beam ready?

We admit we've become cautiously optimistic about the war's PR aspect. Yesterday the NFL had moments of silence for Israeli victims of Hamas as did MLB. Pro-Israel protesters have taken to the streets in many cities throughout the world. Those who have supported Hamas are facing backlash, a social cost for their actions. Many have been doxed with some students being expelled. Some professionals have lost jobs. Unfair? Not my rules, not my rules. Oh, and Israeli is releasing captured Hamas Go-Pro footage. We've seen things you wouldn't believe. 

As we often do, we've wondered what else we can do. We've posted on FB, useless. We've posted on Twitter, marginally less useless. We've attended an emergency service at our synagogue. We went to a pro-Israel rally. We actually networked with a local politician. We've kept an eye out for pro-Hamas activity here in Bridgewater. What else? 

Will's Good Idea for the Week of 10/16/23....Reminder, a third Israel Strikes novel is permanently kiboshed. Anyone else remember that idea we had for a US/Iran war novel with the US bombing Iran to oblivion and invading Lebanon while Hamas/Hezbollah launch a terror war in the US? Also Kiboshed. Sometimes ideas get overtaken by events. Like Putin's War. We begin a read through of World War 1990: Norway today. We approach the task with great fear and trepidation. We double pinky swear that World War 1990: The Final Storm will be ready for the editor this week.
