And so the weekend is here. We didn't attend Shabbot services last night as a cold has been making its way through the Stroock household.
It's unseasonably warm here in northern New Jersey. We may indulge in a bottle and an Arturo Fuente this afternoon.
It's been three weeks since the Israelis said they needed three weeks to take Khan Yunis. The Israelis have taken Khan Yunis and are planning to attack Rafah, the last Hamas stronghold. They still haven't rescued any hostages or captured Hamas leadership, which is disappointing this morning. Exit question: When will Israel strike north?
The Things:
A frustrating but productive week.
We have finished the rough drafts of the Titan II missile base and Alberta rancher story in War Night. There's still plenty of work to do, but the stories have a theme, beginning, middle, and end. War Night is 25,000 words.
Much time we spent thinking about short stories to write. We're doing American nuclear arty at Fulda, and a world leader. No idea which world leader yet. We've still no idea what War Night's main 10,000 word story is. We've pretty much settled on what story we're writing for the alternate history anthology to which we've been asked to contribute. Probably.
We made slow but important progress on the epilogue chapter of World War 1990: Norway. We also reread some source material on the Soviet VDV, went through the story, and made some tweaks and additions, comrades. Those Soviet VDV guys were fucking nuts, right out of crazy Russian central casting. World War 1990: Norway is 74,000 words.
How about a short story on how a tank battalion deals with nukes flying while in Europe and how they get back to the US and please publish Norway soon I really need a new book to take my mind off my mother's cancer coming back
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that.
