Доброе утро Tucker!

Good morning and Shabbot Shalom Stroock's Books kibbutzim. The coffee is what it is. The Door Dash guys seem less ominous. Maybe we're just getting used to seeing them about.

A bitter, bitter night after the Mann v Steyn verdict. Bitter, bile filled. The climate cultists are celebrating this morning and rightfully so. From the Danish cartoons of blasphemy to Charlie Hebdo to Mann v Steyn, we've been a soldier in the free speech wars for nearly two decades. The free speech wars are over, and we have lost. Exit question: did Steyn take the redeye out of the country last night? He fled DC, anyway.

A pleasant enough visit to the cardiologist. Blood pressure and EKG were fine. Our triglyceride number is nearly 700. Those are rookie numbers. We gotta pump those numbers up. They hit the panic button at 300, if anyone is wondering why this blog is usually a tad fatalistic. The nurse was cute. Mmmmm....thirty-ish. Dirty blonde hair with black roots. The eyeglasses clinched it. She blushed as she put the EKG sticky things on our chest [Oh my god. You're a moron. That was horror-Ed].

During dance-taxi a police car, lights blazing, blew right past us. 'Five-oh' we said. 'What?' Middle Daughter replied. We told her about Hawaii Five-O and had her look up the theme on YouTube. She was horrified. Then we called her G-Money and asked if she was her brother's keeper. 'I don't have a brother,' Middle Daughter replied.

We caught about 2/3rds of Tucker Carlson's Vladimir Putin interview last night. Putin likes to talk, doesn't he? And he really wanted to talk to America. He gave us a history lesson on Ukraine. Putin later blamed Ukrainian intransigence and NATO expansion for the war. His answers were long winded. Many times Carlson looked confused as if he were wondering, 'Where is Putin going with this?' We did get a sense of what the man thinks. Putin feels Russia was/is wronged by the west.

As we write this a European friend from a nation that has an NFL team named after its ancestors is pestering us about Tucker Carlson. We thought Carlson did fine. Carlson asked Putin some good questions and got informative answers. Asking, 'Why are you so evil,' and the like would be pointless grandstanding. Carlson practiced journalism, try it some time, mainstream media. The EU is already talking about sanctions against Carlson. Вопрос о выходе: how will the Regime retaliate against Tucker?

Segue to Why I don't hate Russia Week, Comrade, финал: Putin made a point Stroock's Books has made many times. After giving Russia assurances it wouldn't expand East, NATO has relentlessly and pointlessly expanded east. Metternich and Castlereagh are rolling in their graves. Here's what we wrote about NATO expansion for the Ruskis all those years ago. Our very first article. We stand by every word. Did NATO start the war? No. But NATO did poke the bear. Poking bear is always bad idea.

Two updates on the war in Gaza. The Israelis are shifting to more 'pinpoint' ops, or so it is said. At the same time Bibi has ordered the IDF to evacuate the thousands of Gazan refugees in Rafah. To the end, Bibi. Hamas leadership seems to be underground and out of touch. We ask once again, where are the hostages, Bibi? Meanwhile, The Times of Israel says, 'IDF is preparing for ‘expansion of war,’ Northern Command chief tells heads of evacuated communities.' We know three divisions are on the northern border. Is that enough?
