Will's Good Idea for the Week of 2/11/24

Happy Super Bowl Sunday to NFL fans everywhere. We find ourselves oddly indifferent and hope Taylor Swift enjoys herself. What's the over under on Taylor sightings today? We don't have a great feel for the game, but if asked, think the Chiefs will win a close one. No Super Bowl party for us. Our father is coming down to watch and it will be a quiet Super Bowl at home for the Stroock family. We're curious to see who will try to ef up the Super Bowl, Antifa, BLM, Jew hating protestors? Events will tell.

We had a good week at the gym, and a good week lifting weights. We hopped on the scale and it showed 245 lbs or so. We can live with that. We shall stick with this program for a while. Our left shoulder is sore again.

Israel Radar reports lots of Hamas casualties in North Gaza as the IDF resumes ops there. We don't see that as a problem. Let Hamas choke in their tunnels till they come out and fight. Planning for the Rafah op is complete. The Israelis have set up safe zones for Gazan refugees. The Times of Israel says Egypt will support an attack on Rafah so long as the Israelis take steps to minimize Gazan casualties. Don't be fooled, the Egyptians don't want to deal with the Gaza problem and are happy to leave it to the Israelis. Nobody likes the Gazans, especially the Arabs.  Soon.

Will's Good Idea for the Week of 2/11/24. We've got a few...

We were planning to begin our short story anthology submission this week, but as the Torah tells us, we plan and god laughs. This is an alternate history story that has to involve hooves, or tracks, cavalry in some way. Pharoh's Chariots, Harold's Lances....

We admit to being frustrated with our inability to come up with a good idea for War Night's 10,000 word main story. As our rabbi once said, if you don't have a solution, you don't have a problem. To restate, maybe the idea is all wrong and we should drop it. Still, we like the title, War Night, and other stories of the Great Nuclear War of 1975.

We plan to finish the World War 1990: Norway epilogue this week. See previous Torah quote. We'll find something else to tweak and fortify in the MS. We also must needs decide if we're going to add a half dozen Norwegian Hauk or Strom attack boat scenes. Not a bad idea. Not a bad idea at all. We should be able to get Norway to editing on 1 March.

We are tempted to keep on moving with World War 1990 novels. Sticking with our one forward, one backward plan [What does the Torah tell us?-Ed], that would men Thatcher's War followed by Battle of the GIUK Gap.
