More Good Ideas for the Week of 3/4/24

A happy Monday, Stroock's Books assembly. We'll gavel this session to order.

The Jerusalem Post reports, 'The IDF on Sunday initiated a large operation to try to consolidate control over Khan Yunis in southern Gaza and Zeitoun in northeastern Gaza, a plan that has been in the works for the past week.' Which is one of the reasons why the Israelis have allowed hostage negotiations to go on and on. Current guess: deal.

Some are warning a Rafah offensive during Ramadan will inflame the so called 'Arab Street' but we don't think the Israelis care. We don't. No one cared that Hamas began its pogrom on Simchat Torah. Besides, in what year are we, 2002? The Regime is still trying the 'but the Arab Street' narrative?

This blog has been saying for months that Prime Minister Netanyahu negotiates Knesset deals for breakfast and he can handle this Hamas trash. But we were reminded yesterday that he turned over hundreds of Gazan and West Bank Person prisoners for Gilead Shalit. This was a mistake.

This is the week we'll finish the readthrough and revisions to World War 1990: Norway. There's precious little left to do. We need to read the concluding naval battle, and write a few more Hauk scenes. It's almost time to stop. And fret. We look forward to deleting our Norway research links.

Today we'll get to work on our short story submission in earnest. We have time, setting, scene, and character set. But not the plot. Wish us luck.

Will's alternate good idea for the week of 3/3/24: Maybe we should focus on the World War Three aspect of World War 1990, wrap up Norway, write Battle of the GIUK Gap, and then wait a year. Thereafter we reinvent the series with the aftermath books. We'd write them in a different way so it's a totally new series. It's a thought.

Monday Metal or 2004 and More: it was right about now 20 years ago that we picked up a guitar for the first time. Yesterday we picked up a guitar for the first time in....a year? We dunno. With the pleasant weather we sat on the front stoop and played. We've lost our finger calluses but played well enough. We suck. We never were very good.
