Will's Good Idea for the Week of 4/28/24

Good morning Stroock's Books constituents. We awoke to see the cat caught a mouse. Good kitty.

On a whim yesterday we took Oldest Daughter to lunch with our dad at Epstein's Kosher deli in Hartsdale, New York. If one knows Westchester County, one knows Epstein's. As always, we visited Ferncliff Cemetary. On the drive back we remarked that we forgot to tell our bad cemetery jokes while standing over our grandparents. 'That's because you told them all on the way there,' Oldest Daughter lamented.

After we got home we enjoyed an Arturo Fuente grand reserva with a bottle of Cavalliere D'oro. Our 6th of the year. We're one cigar ahead of where we care to be in 2024. But otherwise, we're pleased with our cigar management.

Furious negotiations continue in the Middle East. The Israelis have told Egyptian mediators that this is it. Meanwhile the IDF has announced its plans are complete and troops are in place for the conquest of Rafah. This is of course a negotiating pressure tactic. Don't ask us what's going to happen. Our best guess is that a deal will be reached. But that's only a guess.

Will's Good Idea for the Week of 4/28/24...We've got War Night and Other Stories of the Great Nuclear War of 1975 threshed out, except for War Night! We suppose we could do Stacey and Matt Jr. with her parents in Indiana, but we're not sure how interesting another ground level POV will be. Voodo-6, now that's gonna be a heck of a story. We've also thought about doing a series of single scene vignettes showing one person reacting to events the night of the war. Maybe that's War Night (asked with an uptalked voice)?

Well, there it is, as the Austrian emperor says in Amadeus. Yes, we've been watching Amadeus on Netflix. No, Rock me Amadeus will not be tomorrow's Monday Metal. That's all planned out, and it's going to be glorious.

  1. If you are going to do a pov story how about one from a family in a country not involved in the war say Chile for instance how would they react and would their government react to the world powers destroying everything
