Chicks Ruin Star Wars

Six mile walk yesterday after an hour + cardio session the day before. With the weather turning hot, wear and tear on our 50-year-old frame, and boredom, it might be time to shut down the walking program.

Happy Birthday, United States Army. Your ten best generals, (in chronological order): George Washinton, Winfield Scott, US Grant, William Sherman, Arthur MacArthur, John J. Pershing, Hunter Liggett, Dwight Eisenhower, George Patton, Creighton Abrams.*

Benny Gantz says Israel should agree to a year long truce with Hamas to get the hostages back. Benny Gantz always did have the political instincts of a potato. He couldn't knock off Netanyahu under the Blue and White banner in 2019, and later made a political deal with Bibi to form a government. Of course Bibi later double crossed Gantz. Do not trust Benny Gantz.

In Britain for the first time a poll shows the dread 'crossover', whereby Nigel Farage's Reform Party is polling ahead of the Tories, 18-17 percent. Labour gets 37 percent and will wipe out the opposition for certain. But this is a good sign. Let's see if further polls show the right abandoning the Tories, we hope, we hope. Tories dalenda est. Final thought, we've always believed Labour leader Kier Starmer has a cool name.

Reader(s) have probably heard of the gynecological disaster that is Star Wars: The Acolyte. The Critical Drinker, who is always right, reviews episode three, and it's a doozy.  The gyno-Americans writing The Acolyte could learn a thing or two about writing women and women's organization from Denis Villeneuve and Dune. The Bene Gesserit are mysterious, powerful, cunning, interesting. Women shouldn't write Star Wars.

We swipe at the air and swill our grog as we ponder the final World War 1990: Norway edit. The editor had it. The grognard had it. The proofer had it. The slog continues.

*Not including Lee, Jackson etc because they weren't USA generals. They're the only two Confederate generals who matter. Yes, we'd go to war with either one of them.

  1. How could you leave Forrest out the best commander of mounted troops this country ever produced and Cleburne the best division commander of the war and I always thought Harder was underrated
