Will Goes the Full Voodoo

Ah, so Phil Donohue died. For younger reader(s) Phil Donohue was a liberal daytime talk show host, who dominated the genre until the syndication of Oprah. He did a lot of sensational subjects, but also a lot of current affairs and politics. Donohue was liberal, yes. But he was actually interested in talking about ideas and learning what people thought. This clip of Milton Freidman on Donohue is making the rounds again. Watch as Donohue asks a good, tough question, then sits back and listens to Freidman's answer.

Israel/Hamas negotiations continue. Netanyahu has dragged out negotiations for months, giving the IDF precious time to hammer Hamas, kill terrorists, destroy infrastructure, etc etc.  In the last week the US approved billions in arms sales and has resumed ammo shipments to Israel.

The IDF recovered the bodies of six hostages this morning. That's dozens, probably, fewer terrorists that the Israelis would have to release in a hostage deal. Don't get us wrong, if we were a hostage family we'd want Bibi's head on a pike, understandably.

In the north Israel has been slowly grinding down Hezbollah and Defence Minister Yoev Gallant says the IDF's 'center of gravity' is shifting toward the north. Last night they hit a trio of weapons depots making for some impressive 'rocket's red glare' pyrotechnic displays.

Now Bibi says he's accepted the US 'bridge' plan. We say again, Bibi negotiates complex coalition deals for breakfast, he can handle this terrorist trash. Boy is Prime Minister Netanyahu a dirty, rotten, bastard. We're glad he's on our side.*

Okay, so we so we finally 'see' one of the proposed War Night stories. Voodoo Genie, in which Canadian F101 Voodoo pilots launch MB-1 Genie nuclear rockets at formations of Soviet bombers over the Canadian arctic.

Monday Metal (supplemental): writing about Great White yesterday, we forgot to mention that we saw them play the Westchester County Center during the summer of 1989 with one of our favorite bands, Tesla. They did a Once Bitten Twice shy audience sing along which was very cool. This was our first rock concert, and we actually went with a girl. Our moms picked us up in the parking lot. So cool. We were 16 (didn't have our license yet).

*[Impressive hubris. Your king-fu is strong-Ed].
