End of the Year Review: Professional

If it's New Years, it's Will's End of the Year Review. Here's what we wrote last year.

We got one novel out in 2024, World War 1990: Norway. As of this writing Norway has 229 ratings for a 4 + star average. Not bad. Overall we are pleased with Norway and its sales. Here are our Kindle ebook top 10 sales for 2024:

Kindle Unlimited subscriptions (you cheap bastards) just about mirror eBook sales.

That's almost all World War 1990. The blue bar represents sales of World War 1990: The Final Storm carrying over from its December 2024 release date. The yellow bar is Norway. Interestingly, The Final Storm out KU subscribed Norway. And just look at all the work the backlist is doing. Yay backlist. World War 1990: Operation Arctic Storm is our #3 KU subscription book. This is a very, very good development. People will read Operation Arctic Storm and then slide on over to Operation Eastern Storm

In 2024 sales data looks like the Allies + Germany. Germany is slowly creeping up in the rankings, alarmingly so. Those Kraut tossers have knocked Canada back into 5th place. What's wrong with you, Canada? We blame Justin.

Once more we see Will's iron law of books sales in action. Sales will decrease about 20 percent per month after they've peaked. Actually there's a huge drop off in Norway sales after the peak.* In 2024 we outsold 2023 by 11 percent.

Despite a great books sales year, we are most proud professionally of our anthology contributions. These are Stand off at San Miguel in Hooves, Tracks, and Sabers (look at us, on the cover and all) and Morning Suns, in Violent Blue Yonder. A third short story should be coming out soon. Thank you, James Young. These short stories are the reason why War Night: Stories of the Great Nuclear War of 1975 is delayed till 2025.

We've done a lot of posting and a lot of audience growing on Substack. We have nearly a thousand combined subscribers and followers. We're actually getting some interactions. We know we're selling some books there too. So far Substack is worth the effort. we haven't posted on Gab since March. We had one article in 1945. They've had issues but seem to be back. 1945 said contact them in the new year.

2024 was fine year professionally.

*Hmmm....looks like Norway's opening month was just really good. After the peak, Norway's 2nd and 3rd month sales almost exactly mirror The Final Storm's 2nd and 3rd month sales. Exit question: why was Norway's first month so good?
