William in the Sky with Drones

See what we did there with the title and syllabic alignment?

Good afternoon, Stroock's Books reader(s). Circumstances combined and conspired (just like the Jews) to prevent our blogging this morning.

Yesterday we had an extremely low-key celebration for Mrs. Stroock's birthday. That's the 30th birthday we've celebrated together. Honestly one of the things we've always loved about Mrs. Stroock is she doesn't insist on a huge extravaganza for her birthday or our anniversary. For our 25th wedding anniversary last year we took the kids to the Cheesecake Factory. Why would we celebrate without them? For our own 50th we hit a brew pub in Great Barrington. Otherwise, who has the time? In contrast, Ed can be a total nightmare about stuff like that.

We dunno, let's see what we got this afternoon....

CNN reports, 'A massive, multi-story building in the Washington, DC, neighborhood of Georgetown welcomed back a former occupant this month that had been gone for over a decade. In a move that’s perhaps more symbolic than business-minded, Barnes & Noble, America’s largest retail bookseller, has reclaimed the flagship store it vacated in 2013.'

Back in our Washingtonian/NOVA days, we knew that B&N well. It was the best bookstore in the Washington DC Metro area, and a rival to the famed Hatchards in London. We saved going to the Georgetown B&N for special occasions, seriously. In 1996 our grandfather sent us a hundred bucks for our birthday, we spent it at the Georgetown B&N. We don't remember which books we got, but we're certain they were all about World War Two.* We were really into World War Two then.**

This is retarded: 'German authorities are pressing for a 100-year-old former Nazi concentration camp guard to face trial almost 80 years since the end of World War II.' He'll answer to God soon enough, you useless, preening Kraut morons. At least he wasn't deported by the United States, unlike poor John Demjanjuk.*** May God have mercy on his soul. Hundred-year-old SS guards are bad. You know what's worse? Hampering Israel's war on Hamas and Hezbollah. There's a strong Venn Diagram correlation between the two, like Kamala and wine.

Well damn, they're spotting drones in the sky right near here. Via The Bridgewater Breeze: 'Among recent reports was a Nov. 26 incident near Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg, during which a medical helicopter was briefly diverted from an accident scene because to the presence of hovering drones, authorities reported.' Our old professorial haunt is five minutes from here. Don't worry, we've talked the Israelis into loaning us a couple of their space lasers. Or are the Jews already piloting the drones? They're clever, say the imams.

*During our NOVA days in the 1990s, the Borders at Crystal City, and later Baily's Crossroads were our book HQ. We own hundreds of books purchased at those locales.

**We read a lot of Liddell-Hart and JFC Fuller back then. Fuller was a weirdo who said Britain should go fascist and later got into Kabala Judaism [Again with the Jew thing?-Ed].

***Spelled it right on the first try.
