Trump said what now?

Good morning Stroock's Books readers. Whether Protestant or Catholic, Loyalist or Nationalist, we appreciate your patronage. We admit that following an afternoon watching Peter Taylor's documentaries on the Northern Ireland Loyalists we are sorely tempted to up the RA [Hey, not funny-Ed]. Here's a link to Taylor's Brits and Loyalists docs. Exit question: after three solid weeks of researching this wretched conflict, what is wrong with these people?

Seriously though, as a proud English speaker, an extoller of the Anglosphere and believer in Churchill's notion of The English Speaking Peoples, we look at the Troubles with great shame. Bombing pubs, kneecapping dissenters, robbing banks to finance arms purchases... Are we French? The Arab doesn't know any better, so what's your excuse? You speak English, goddamn it. Act like it.

So yeah, Trump yesterday. We're not even sure where to start with this one. Wow. We're taking Gaza? Really? This blog doubts that very much. For the record, Stroock's Books opposes American involvement in Gaza - in any way whatsoever. Let it burn, we say. In the past we would have assumed Trump was shooting his mouth off. Not now. We think Trump knows what he's doing. Trump has certainly shaken things up, and that was his goal most assuredly. Okay, Euros and Arabs, you don't like Trump's plan? What's yours?

Oh, and tell us again how Israel got screwed on phase-1 of the hostage deal. One must understand the concept of diminishing returns. At some point one is just bouncing rubble. One must learn to take the W. Or is one such a loser that one doesn't know one's won?

Transfer remains the only humane option for Gaza. [Yeah but where do you send these people?-Ed]. We'll send 250,000 Gazans to Scotland, the former First Minister always said Scotland was too white. We'll send 250,000 Gazans to Ireland. The Irish love the Gazans, just ask their president. And we'll send 250,000 Gazans to London, enjoy the cultural enrichment, Mister Mayor.

New Stroock's Books policy: every day we're going to recount what we got done the day before. Yesterday we worked on War Night's acknowledgements. This is going so badly we may scrap the idea. We began two scenes in World War 1990: Thatcher's War. We read a book about the RUC, and watched some of Peter Taylor's Loyalists. We contacted our book production people.
