We got an inch of snow followed by lots of rain yesterday and much more today. Everything is slush. Ew. Right now there's talk of New Jersey getting hit by an actual blizzard this Wednesday. We may finally get to break out the snow blower.
Ah, the 25 foot accordion tube we set up at the sump-pump drain pipe isn't quite positioned right, and water has been back-splashing under the deck. No problem, we dug out a little channel for the water to drain and a spill way for the sump pump water to gather. Which was fun. The sump-pump is operating within normal parameters. The clamp and connection are fine. What more do we need to see there before we can goddamn relax?
Melancholy has set in. We hate February.
Oh look, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is in Israel talking up the Iran threat and declaring that Hamas cannot rule Gaza. It's almost as if Israel is winning the ceasefire, or something. Yes, these are tough days and sights. Tough but necessary. Once again, this blog endorses President Trumps Gazan relocation plan. We're sure the Irish, Scots, and English will love having a quarter of a million Gazans as their neighbors- each.
The Israelis bombed a pair of Hezbollah weapons depots this weekend. Reminder, Hezbollah is, or was, the existential threat. We remain weary and caution against Victory Disease.
Will's good idea for the Week of 2/16/25. We're strongly leaning toward expanding the Thatcher's War Battle of Waterside chapter rather than writing a second chapter. The paramilitary stuff is only so interesting. Also, Maggie is going to fire Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Peter Brooke and replace him with...John Major! That will stick it to the backstabbing prat and buy Maggie some political time.
