Short Term Pain for Long Term Gain?

Good morning, Stroock's Books investors. Put on your helmets and insert your mouth guards because it's going to be a rough one today. Asian and European markets took one on the chin. Dow futures are already down like, a thousand. I guess those capitalist pigs will finally pay for their crimes, eh, Comrade? Or the imams are right, the Jew is clever. [9:45 AM, down 1700 points, love-Ed].

Related: Netanyahu is in Washington today for talks on Iran and trade. We expect a big announcement on the latter. Trump, 'Listen, Bibi, I need a favor.' Lord knows Bibi (and Israel) owe Trump a few favors. Lots of other nations are lining up to talk tariffs. Exit question: does Isarel start the tariff deal cascade?

We got some rain last night with more expected this morning. If you're in the south or Midwest the drenching storm you got over the weekend is hitting New Jersey today. Good, according to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection we still need lots of rain.

Soviet, sorry Russian Alex Ovechkin is now the NHL's all-time scorer. The Russian collusion is real. And screw you, Canada.

No we will not do a Pershing in Command week here at Stroock's Books. We plugged Pershing in Command over at Substack and got no hits. You can't sell an Etzel or New Coke. Of note we're still sitting on half a dozen unpublished AEF articles. Maybe we should shop them around?

What Will's Watching, Tank (!): Saw it on Netflix and thought, we haven't watched this since the 80s. Why not? Tank is as delightful tale of a wronged family and southern revenge via Sherman tank with some very serious undertones about mourning, duty and loyalty. Is Tank plausible? No. Does it have plot holes? You bet. So what?  'I do believe I got you covered,' the wonderful James Garner says as he levels a 76 MM gun on James Cromwell. Garner is utterly believable as a grizzled old division Sgt. Major, and we enjoyed a lot of army base scenes. These include Garner's all-sergeants meeting, and his visit to the base kitchen. JD Spradlin and that menacing accent steal the movie, of course. Tank is a mixture of 80's fun and cheese. See also Iron Eagle. They don't make movies like this anymore. 3/4

Tomorrow is this blog's 10th anniversary.

We've no idea what we're going to write today.

DOGE report: yesterday we read the Australia story. We were pleasantly surprised at how pleased we were with the final product. We did our proofer's edits. Note: our proofer found typos we missed. Yay. One story remains. We'll submit the final MS this week.
