Good Sunday morning to Stroock's Books reader(s) whatever their religious affiliation (if any) but especially the Christians, it being Sunday and all.
We had rain last night with more rain scheduled today. Meanwhile, one of our cousins in Kentucky reports McClain County is a bunch of islands now.
We got in a Judaism yesterday, the long Saturday service. Actually our synagogue's Saturday service is relatively short at under two hours. Two and a half hours is the norm, Jesus (see what we did there)?
We had an excellent weightlifting session yesterday and didn't think about the knee at all. Cardio today? And if so, gym or walk?
FB tells us that 108 years ago today, the United States entered the Great War. Long time reader(s) will recall our herculean effort to write a history of Pershing and the AEF. Eight years later, here it is. Won't some kind soul click on over and buy a copy of Pershing in Command? Exit question, did you buy a copy long ago? If so, could you say so in comments? Further question: should we do a Pershing in Command week?
DOGE report: we read War Night's Florida Mom and Canadian Voodoo stories. Lets just say there's a reason why we give the hardcopy one last read through, and this is it. Jesus F Christ. [F-Christ?-Ed]. F Christ. We'll read Australia today, god help us. We'll also sit down and figure out what we're writing this week, god help us again.
Will's Good Idea for the Week of 4/6/25. Actually, some ideas for a 5th nuclear war novel are percolating. We won't know if it's worth doing till we see what War Night does, but here they are. First, in the spring of 1976, a midsized town opens back up and tries to return to normal. Second a military convoy drives the New Jersey Turnpike and see's the devastation. Let's see, Newark, Trenton, Princeton, AC, Maguire AFB, Fort Dix, Cape May....were all destroyed. Did we forget any place? There should be almost no life in New Jersey.
Yes I bought Pershing in Command and really enjoyed it plus Today is the anniversary of the Battle of Shiloh
