Good morning, people of Stroock's Books.
Heh, yesterday we woke up with gout in our big left toe and a bursitis flare up in our right knee. Went away in a few hours. We hit the gym for a weightlifting session, which left us tired and sore. Fatigue setting in?
We had a pleasant Father's Day dinner with our dear neighbors at a fancy Asian restaurant we all like. We had a couple of excellent Mai Tais [Since when do you drink Mai Tais?-Ed]. Since we discovered them at the fancy Asian restaurant. Anywho....we admit to getting a little sentimental and dare it be said, emotional.
The Israelis are bombing Tehran with impunity, during the daylight hours. They seem to know when and how to hit the Iranians. Well, well...look who's interested in negotiating. No deal.
There's been a lot of talk lately about the 'online right' or the 'woke right' and Israel. Tucker Carlson, for example, vehemently opposes Israel's war on Iran. PJ Media asks, What the Hell Happened to Tucker Carlson? Maybe it's audience capture. Maybe it's Gulf Arab money. Maybe Tucker's gone loopy. Or maybe Tucker's just followed his beliefs to this conclusion. Tucker Carlson is right about many things but wrong about Israel. We don't care.
US Army Week... Devotees will recall we have an MA in the American Revolution. George Washington was a great general. He lost an awful lot of battles, New York, White Planes, German Town, Brandywine....But he had strategic vision and sensed Britain's strategic vulnerability. The longer the war went on the more vulnerable the empire became. Washington was one of our best.
The other great general of the Revolutionary War was Nathanael Greene, whom Washington sent down to the Carolinas to salvage the situation after the British landed there in 1780. Greene kept a small force in the field and let the British exhaust themselves chasing him all over the Carolinas. Eventually, the British army retreated to Yorktown...
