Good morning, Stroock's Books people.
Yesterday, oldest and Middle Daughter had their last day of school. Graduation tomorrow! Right now they're sitting around the house not cleaning and straightening up. Today is Youngest Daughter's last day. We're still adjusting to an evening schedule that doesn't include intensive dance-taxi. We need to find something to watch. Last night that something was the first half of Charlie Wilson's War. Fun and amusing.
Is that it? Is that all you can do, Iran? Iranian rhetoric has reached Arab levels of delusion, which scientists did not think Persians could achieve outside of laboratory conditions. Reminder, the more bellicose the Arab's rhetoric, the more impotent is the Arab. We still don't know if this is true for the Persian. We shall see.
There's talk, talk mind you, of Regime Change in Iran. Operation Iranian Freedom is a bad, bad idea. But if the Iranians want to overthrow the mullahs....We do wonder if we'll wake up one morning to see the Iranian regime is just gone, like Assad in Syria. Ynet notes: 'Hezbollah sits on the sidelines and the Houthis barely fire: Iran's friends appear to have abandoned her'. In the Middle East it is important to understand which side is losing.
Iranian missile barrages are becoming more frequent, but smaller. Meanwhile, Israel Hayom warns the IDF may be running out of interceptors. IAF search and destroy missions against Iranian missiles and launchers will continue. And where are the Iranian drone swarms we were promised?
The Israelis seem determined to take out Iranian military equipment. The attacks on nuclear sites and related production facilities continue apace, including a centrifuge production facility last night.
Fordow looms. We state again that we doubt the Israelis began the war without a plan to take out Fordow on their own. Israel Hayom says a plan exists. That being said, the Israelis are clearly trying to get America to do the deed for them. The imams are right, the Jew is clever. Boy, a half dozen B2s armed with 30,000 pound bunker busters would be a sight to see.
Exit question: last night the Israelis took out a bunch of helicopters. The day before they took out some old F-14s. When do the Israelis see diminishing returns on their air strikes?
We mocked Iran above, but this is very unwise. What cards does Iran still have to play? Let's suppose Iran has already put together a couple of nukes. Why not invite the media and conduct a test someplace? That would certainly change Israel's calculus. Beware victory disease.
This is not a fair fight.
DOGE report: we edited several scenes and started two new scenes in World War 1990: The Managua Campaign. Our goal is to describe the situation in Cuba and Nicaragua and set the scene for what transpires next. Cuba is basically like Iraq after we toppled Saddam. The Americans have no idea what to do. Nicaragua is like Syria during the same period.
