We write this in the cool breeze of a 6000 BTU window AC unit. We also write this with great fear and trepidation. The AC repair bastards are supposed to be here between 8-12 this morning. Wish us luck, and pray to the many-faced god. Also, Kek [Kek? What year is it? -Ed]. Update, coil cleaning and refrigerant top off, they are absolutely sure this is the problem. We got a discount. This is the least-worst option. Further update, they didn't need to recharge the refrigerant Afterall. Exit question, why didn't previous techs notice the coil problem?
We sliced our hand open on a cheese grater last night. Mother!@#@!!
On the plus side the toe feels about 90% and we even hit the gym for a truncated session yesterday. The scale says we are 237 pounds, which surprised us.
The Rutgers tuition bill arrived. We are pleasantly surprised to see it's about 20 percent less than we feared. Yes, they don't let you know till their green eye shade types have crunched the numbers.
So seriously, despite frustration let us count our many blessings. Twenty percent is most definitely a blessing.
NY City deserves this. 'The scandal-scarred independents running for New York City mayor stand little chance against frontrunner Zohran Mamdani — even if the rivals team up against the socialist candidate, a shocking new poll found.' Bear in mind that this poll comes after a series of embarrassing scandals for the next mayor of NYC. Mayor Adams is deeply unpopular. The disgraced Cuomo already lost to Mamdani. Sliwa is a GOP running a vanity campaign. Every alternative to Mamdani is a loser. Which is why Mamdani will be a winner.
Speaking of bad for Jews, it's clear Netanyahu has no idea what to do in Gaza. Or is it? It looked like Bibi had no idea what to do about Hezbollah, then came Operation Grim Beeper. You know what the imams say. That being said, while Israel's enemies are harping on France and Britain's plan to recognize a 'Palestinian' state, the Gulf Arabs have declared Hamas must disarm and release the hostages. This is a far more important development. This blog believes the long term solution to Gaza is to make the Arabs responsible for it. Until then, bomb, bomb, bomb.
DOGE report: due to circumstances described in yesterday's post we didn't get much done. We mostly stared into an abyss of creative nothingness. We had thought we didn't want to do an Ortega/Castro reaction scene, but determined last night that that's what's exactly needed. So it shall be written. That will give us a good jump start for today.
We haven't even thought about the Cuban expat community in the United States. They'll have to be in the novel. Have to be. They'd be chomping at the bit to return to Cuba. Something about that should be in the opening chapter.
Holy Toledo, Cleveland and Cincinatti two Marine choppers just flew right past our house. Trump must be in Bedminster.
