Good morning once again from the Stroock Northern Strategic Direction. The temps fell into the 50s last night and are in the mid 60s at this moment.
We got out on the water yesterday afternoon and last night.
Work must needs be done on this house. At least a couple of windows and a door need replacing. We talked to a guy on Friday. Our sewer system is acting glitchy. Fab.
Also, our thermostat back home sent us several error messages. It does this sometimes, but still. We can't help but feel put upon, a bit.
You know, this house has its original furnace. We had been thinking that we should get it replaced. But after our recent tribulations with our own HVAC, we nixed the idea. That ancient machine just keeps going. If it ain't broke...lol and the house a thermostat from, like 1960 too.
We'll return home today and begin for the annual Stroock trip down the shore. Wish us luck.
Lets' move on to Will's Good Idea for the Week of 8/3/25. Checking in on sales once again, we see strong numbers for all of The Great War of 1975 novels. So on the drive home we'll cast about for the idea for the next novel, if any.
On a more positive note, we did some World War 1990: Thatcher's War outlining and have a rough idea how the first three chapters will go. Invasion met by civil disobedience, followed by terrorism, followed by a pitched battle in the town of Ardee on the road to Dublin (Google Earth it).
