Saturday Updates

Good morning, Stroock's Books weekenders.

We're enjoying glorious autumnal weather here in New Jersey.

So far we don't miss our twitter account. This is good. You know, we can probably cut down our blog reading too. From a news perspective we'd really be okay with the NY Post, Hot Air, Ace of Spades, and Instapundit.

What else is going on? Not much. Let's get on with The Things.

The things.

Since making the World War 1990 series available on audio format we've seen some sales in that medium. A sale here. A sale there. These are sales we almost certainly would not have made in print, digital or even KU. Some people just want a book on tape while they drive or fold the laundry or some such.

World War 1990: Whatever it's Called. First off, we're not calling this book World War 1990: Ireland. That title is gay and retarded [Is that really necessary?-Ed]. World War 1990: Aftermath, has been suggested. But the problem is, at least 75 percent of the novel is about Ireland.

Here's what we got: The first chapter is a prologue about Ireland the night WWIII breaks out. Then we move on to 'the present' about a week after the events in The Final Storm. Then we go to the chapter in which the IRA's man in London (remember Murphy?) makes Thatcher very angry. From there we're back in Ireland and the sectarian a-go-go begins.

If the title is going to be World War 1990: Aftermath or the Week After, or something, it needs more international stuff.

Other than that, this novel is actually, kinda sorta....done.

World War 1990: Whatever it's Called, is 63,000 words.
