Monday Sports and Entertainment Wrap

Baaah! And ouch! We awake with a middling case of gout in our left foot. Aspirin and cherry extract ought to take care of it. Ah, there we go, already on the mend.

Good morning, Stroock's Books sufferers. How are you?

The Jets suck. So do the Chiefs. It was nice to see Taylor Swift's favorite team lose last night. The Chiefs just don't got the weapons anymore. The Chiefs are...6-7! IYKYK. We saw the last two minutes of the Steelers/Ravens game, in which the Steelers emerged victorious. Our hope is that the Steelers will do something stupid and fire head coach Mike Tomlin so the Giants can hire him. The Steelers don't do many stupid things.

The Baseball HoF Contemporary Baseball Era Committee (the what?) elected 2nd basemen Jeff Kent to the HoF. Idiots.

Trump handed out a bunch of awards at the Kennedy Center over the weekend. Sylvester Stallone, George Strait, Gloria Gaynor...KISS! Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in the Oval Office is either the most or least metal thing ever. The tackiness is the point. Well done, Mr. President and congrats to the lucky winners.

Related, see below our Spotify wrap for 2025. This is basically what we listen to at the gym. So that's 6222 minutes of gym time.* No surprises. Blues based guitar rock with a lot of Rory Gallagher. Strong recommend Chicken Shack's 1972 album Imagination Lady.

DOGE Report: on to chapter II of the Battle of Derry today. Wish us luck. IRA, UVF, UDA, UFF, RUC, UDR...JFC. Is this the week? This might be the week. Okay, we got our book on the UDA, but it doesn't look like an easy read. We may pass. We'll see.

*Seriously, when we drive we don't usually have the aux, as the kids say. And when we do have the aux we usually play podcasts, like it's 1996 and we're listening to Rush Limbaugh on 77WABC.
