Will's Monday Sports Wrap

Good morning, Stroock's Books devotees, and happy Monday. We slept in about half an hour, as has been our wont during the Christmas break.

The weather here is rainy and damp. Most of the snow should wash away today. Which is fine.

The girls return this afternoon. For as it is written, the girls shall returneth on 29 December.

In the last three days we've hit the gym, cleared the snow, and hit the gym again.  We feel good, if fatigued. More on this tomorrow.

We are informed that on its flight to America, Israel's Zion Wing carried Prime Minister Netanyahu over Greek, Italian and French air space, in defiance of an ICC arrest warrant. Bibi's meeting with Trump this week and will then sojourn to Zohran Mamdani's New York. The Zohan has threatened to arrest the Prime Minister of the Jewish State.

New York sports suck hole: Okay, yesterday New York sports didn't suck as much as it usually sucks, with the Giants beating the Raiders 34-10. We're reminded of something a dear friend and Eagles fan told ud when his team beat the Raiders a few weeks ago, 'It felt like beating up the retarded kid in gym class.' Nevertheless, a win's a win. Some morons are bemoaning the win, as it will cost the Giants the #1 draft pick. The Giants don't need the #1 draft pick. The #2 pick will suffice and is just as tradable, as there are two much sought after QBs in the draft. Dude, do you even football?

Will ef us. The leader of this blog's Confederate Contingent reminds us that the Giant's 50's era QB, Charlie Connerly went to Ole Miss. And of course the great Yelberton Abraham Tittle attended LSU, with our paternal grandmother. You don't have to come from the SEC to be the Giants' QB (see Simms, Hostettler, Collins) but it helps!

As for the Jets, their 42-10 loss to the pats reminded us of playing Madden-94 against the computer. The Patriots went up and down the field at will. The Jets didn't just look bad. They looked like they didn't care. At 3-12 who can blame them? We ourselves had the game on in the background while we put Mrs. Stroock's new office chair together. The loss was so bad we checked the NY Post this morning to see if ownership has fired head coach Aaron Glenn. They haven't but they should.

Mrs. Stroock's Eagles looked...big strong and tough in a tough road game in Buffalo. After losing 3 in a row the Eagles have won 3 in a row, blowing out Washington and Las Vegas and eking out a difficult 13-12 victory against Buffalo. The Eagles win a lot of games they might also lose. They have the hapless Redskins next week in a game that won't mean much. The Eagles should pummel the Redskins anyway. Go into the payoffs sharp on a four game winning streak.

We didn't love last night's 42-38 track meet between the Bears and the 49rs. A little defense if you please. But the last two minutes were certainty excited, with the Niners holding off the bears at the goal line.

DOGE Report: yesterday we spent some time reading up on the various protestant paramilitaries in Northern Ireland. After a while we asked ourself, do we really want to do this?

Before reading the editing Ireland MS, we need to sit down and write out questions we have and things to look out for.

We plugged To Defend the Earth on Substack. Our goal was to get a sense of the effectiveness of plugging books on Substack. TDTE doesn't sell much, so if we see a spike we have causation. Sure enough, we see a TDTE sales spike. Someone bought it. Today we'll do A March through Hell.

Off to the airport!
