Muck on a Monday

Good afternoon, Stroock's Books people. 

What seemed like a dusting at first kept accumulating all day. We must have gotten close to five inches of snow yesterday. We kept going outside to clear it. By noon the air was wet and drizzly. We figured the worst was over and went to the gym. But the snow kept coming. Honestly, we could have waited till the storm passed and busted out the snow blower. 

Shoveling snow at night is not an entirely unpleasant experience. The light from homes and streetlamps reflects off the snow and back into the sky, illuminating the night. The air is still, quiet. One gets that winter wonderland effect. The effect remains this morning in the sunlight. Ah, we see the plow came by again last night and blocked up the driveway. Bastards. 

We've got an attack of gout in our right little toe, that's a new one, and something else in the rest of the foot. Our little toe knuckle looked like and enflamed red, knob. Just great. 

We are now trying to convince Oldest Daughter that it's okay to called duct-tape duck-tape.

So with disgraced former CNN anchor Don Lemon recording, wacko protestors stormed a Sunday church service in Minneapolis. We are told this is a federal crime. This blog wonders what storming a synagogue would look like. We already keep an eye on the door, which is locked by necessity. We don't mean to talk smack, but if this happened to us, we'd tackle the perpetrator. Or at least grab him by the scruff and throw him out on his ass.

As for the ICE campaign in Minnesota and elsewhere, we voted for this. It's gut check time. Illegal migration long ago entered the 'something terrible is going to have to happen phase'. Here we are. Stay the course. We've seen way to many GOP presidents and congresses back down because they were getting slammed in the press. We don't care about congressional majorities any longer. We care about results.

Iran...assets including refueling tankers, F-15 and F-35 fighters, and the USS Abraham Lincoln are moving into place, they say.  We've no doubt there's been a massacre, but we are wary of numbers. We don't know what the true numbers are and neither does the press. We'd like to see the mullahs get thumped, but we just don't know how that helps the Iranian opposition. We approach events with circumspectitude [Not a word-Ed].

Greenland...this blog wouldn't say the Euros are caving on Greenland. Rather, we say 'modifying' is a more appropriate word. Frankly, we don't love all the bellicose talk out of the White House. What's the end game here? Trump is threatening the future of NATO, they say. To that we say fabulous! Reminder, the left breaks out the TACO slur, and then Trump takes out Fordow and abducts Maduro. There is a not-zero chance that marines land in Nuuk, just sayin'.
