India in Chindia

Happy Indian Summer, Stroock's Books reader(s). Here in northern New Jersey the temperature will climb to 65 degrees, that's American Fahrenheit, not Euro Celsius. Fahrenheit is so much better. 100 means it's really hot. Zero means it's really cold. Got it? Yeah, yeah, in Celsius zero means freezing. Who cares if it's freezing? Long term reader(s) know we refuse to sully this blog with fru-fru Euro-numbers.

Speaking of fru-fru Europeans, French President Emanuel Macron wants a wider war in Europe. CNN Europe reports, 'Sending Western troops to Ukraine “cannot be ruled out," French President Emmanuel Macron said Monday after hosting a conference in Paris where European leaders discussed the prospect.'  Great, when does the French Foreign Legion go in? More productively and less violently, Swedish membership in NATO has been approved. Just one of the peaceful consequences Russia suffers for invading Ukraine. That's got to annoy Putin no end.

Segue...we did a marathon readthrough of World War 1990: Norway yesterday and finished the Tromso counterattack chapter. We're not quite one hundred percent happy with said chapter. It needs articulation. Fleshing out. Just a little more detail. Which we'll be adding today. Be that as it may, we are well over the hump now and the read through is all downhill from here.

Hostage negotiations between Israel and Hamas intermediaries continue. We've no idea if those negotiations will succeed. While some may be frustrated that the IDF has not yet flattened Rafah, the noose slowly tightens around the city. The IDF has submitted plans to the government for the evacuation of Gazans in Rafah, and a battleplan for taking same. Meanwhile Israel forces have discovered and are dismantling a massive tunnel linking central and southern Gaza. Destroying the tunnels will take several more months. At home Israel holds local elections today. The results will be interesting.

Come on Bushnell light my fire...*An American airmen, Aaron Bushnell, doused himself in gasoline and set himself on fire to protest Israeli victory in Gaza. Self-immolation was Bushnell's form of civil dissent, for some reason. In setting himself alite, the sadly deceased Bushnell committed a hate crime - against himself. This blog urges Hamas members and affiliates throughout the world to follow his example.

Local news beat....In 2022 a black youth named Z'kye Hussein was handcuffed after brawling at the Bridgewater Mall. The incident was recorded and went viral. This week NJ.com reports the Hussein family has settled with the town for $130,000. We think Mayor Moensch and the Bridgewater town council has done an excellent job handling this issue. The settlement is a paltry sum considering ambulance chaser Ben Crump was involved. We covered several Z'kye Hussein protests here in Bridgewater. We enjoyed the gig and are quite pleased with our work. And we ended up on TV:

We're the White guy in the back. Researching our Bridgewater protest work led to this post and this quote, 'Mark my words, the next time Hamas picks a fight with Israel, the cancellers won't stop with Israel. No. They'll insist on cancelling Jews too. Expect to see protests in front of synagogues.' All has transpired exactly as we have foretold. For indeed Will doth have the sight.

*We admit this is crude and in poor taste.
