The Last February Post for an Extra Day

Happy February 29th to all those who celebrate. Despite the recent bout of Indian summer, it's still February and the temperature reflects that. Our own cold is better, yet it lingers. We're not sure, but we think we saw a Nikki Haley bumper sticker. We're at the coffeeshop and are 100 percent acclimated to the coffee. The satellite radio sucks but could be worse.

The Times of Israel reports of intensified Israeli operations in Syria and says the IDF has 'Taken the gloves off'. The Jerusalem Post tells us that Iran has approved a massive Hezbollah attack on Israel. And Arutz Shiva says the US is worried Israel will invade Lebanon. This blog has aways thought Hezbollah to be a greater threat than Hamas, which we viewed as a nuisance. As Stroock's Books has said many times, Hezbollah, Bibi.

At least check three Israeli divisions are on the Lebanon border. Note, the IDF just withdrew the Paratroopers brigade from Gaza which is interesting. The IDF has been training for this war since the last Hezbollah war in 2006. Hamas' tunnel system in Gaza is far greater than the Israelis expected. Hezbollah's tunnel system will be greater still, no? Lebanon south of the Litani his rugged and hilly. Most hills are topped by an ancient town. We must assume Hezbollah made each one of those towns a fortress, a mini-Stalingrad. Exit Question: what are the unknown unknowns?

By now reader(s) are familiar with the Google Gemini AI disaster. We ourselves have been having fun with Gemini, trying to get it to say horrible anti-Jewish things. So far, no luck. We've also asked, 'Do the Jews control the banks?' and 'Do the Jews control Hollywood?' and, 'Do the Jews use the blood of Christian children for Passover?' These questions resulted in a stern, HR lady type lecture, and this note, 'Your conversations are processed by human reviewers to improve the technologies powering Gemini Apps. Don’t enter anything you wouldn’t want reviewed or used.' We're cracking ourselves up trying to get Gemini to generate a picture of Hitler at a bar mitzvah. People are looking at us very wearily.

Thursday Downer: Maybe it's just the Yankee February, but we feel an odd sense of melancholy. In 2022 we put out three novels, were writing for Inforos and 19Fortyfive, placed a few articles in military history magazines, and celebrated this blog's 5000 post. Now we feel stuck, and odd feeling to be sure. We really don't want to start another World War 1990 novel right now. But that's where the juju lies.
