Saturday Updates

Good Saturday morn, Stroock's Books associates.

We aren't far from the epicenter of that earthquake. A 4.8 they said. We were emptying the clothes dryer when we heard a bang and then a rumble. At first we thought a transformer had blown. Then came the shaking. A few glasses and plates clinked, and a few items fell off shelves. Later we felt an aftershock rated at 4.0. We will rebuild. #Jerseystrong.

For the second day in a row, we spent too much time mainlining Israeli news. We really got to knock it off today. Events are not contingent on our following them. What will be will be, inshallah.

Natan Nagid got into a stupid twitter slap fight yesterday, which is why we don't do much on twitter.

This morning we see Israel has taken out another senior Hamas commander in Gaza. This comes after the IDF eliminated Hamas' number 3 and 4 men, and the extremely successful Shifa hospital operation. Sadly, the Israelis found the body of another hostage. The Hamas War is not stuck or faltering and the IDF is doing just fine in Gaza.

Some kabuki is at play in the chancelleries. After Thursday's tough talk, yesterday Joe said the Israelis are 'doing what he asked'. Which is good. Nancy Pelosi (D-chardonnay) signed a Democrat Party letter calling for the regime to halt arms sales to Israel. Which is bad. Nancy Pelosi is a mortal enemy of the Jewish people and the Hamas wing is the future of the Democrat Party. Which is why the Regime is pressuring Israel to surrender.

Ynet reports, 'Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned Israel on Wednesday saying deadly attacks against the country would be “carried out soon.' The mullahs are promising big things. We've read reports of cruise missile and massed Shaheed drone strikes, perhaps against an Israeli embassy. Jordan? We think an attack by the Iranians could shift international talk away from the ECK bombing fiasco.  That would be unwise. But the mullahs must feel intense pressure to 'do something'.

The Things:

Substack operations continue apace. We are gaining a few followers and free subscribers daily. Mostly we post about Israel, but want to branch out more and post about writing.

Our magazine ad of The Great Nuclear War of 1975 has officially failed.

We heard from our editor, who informs us, ' It’s slow-going because I’m double checking all the Norwegian and Soviet words and making sure the military ranks for individuals are consistent.'

The Pancho Villa short story is coming along fine and due in just under two weeks. From there we'll get back to War Night. We had one idea, a college campus the night the bombs drop. War Night is probably this summer project with projected publication in December. We planned and god laughed. If War Night does well we'll write Post War.
