Last week to great fanfare Elon Musk launched a car into space. The move was highly derivative of the movie Heavy Metal which has a convertible landing on the moon. Musk also launched his car to David Bowie's 'Star Man' and placed a 'Don't Panic' Placard on the dash.
And people still say science fiction isn't important.
In the meantime Trump, as he often does, has another great idea. That is, he wants to privatize the International Space Station.
He's right.
Trump should go a step further and privatize NASA.
Look, folks, NASA's glory years are long, long behind it. NASA went to the moon and then got a reusable vehicle, after which the progress of manned space exploration...just stopped. So sell NASA too, or sell off it's space functions and turn what's left into a regulatory agency. We're going to need one, because bored billionaires are about to realize the dream of manned space exploration.
