So Yesterday the Israelis shot down an Iranian drone over the Golan, the Syrians shot down an Israeli F-16 over same, and then the Israelis hit several Syrian targets.
Reports indicate that the Israeli F-16 flew into a massive AAA field and we wonder if the drone launching was a lure to draw an Israeli jet into a flak trap. The Israelis hammered the Syria flak positions. In fact the J-Post tells us that this was the largest air raid on Syria since 1982. Rader(s) will recall that in this year the smashed the Syrian SAM network in the Bekaa Valley and then won the mother of all aerial battles 86-0.
We think it's too early to hit the panic button here, and believe Assad still needs time to consolidate his hold on Syria. That said he and the Iranians are laying the groundwork for the Great Northern War.
