….Nobody has said, so we thought we would.
The girl was in tears for having the temerity to defeat Serena Williams. As always, M Steyn has it right.
We couldn't care less about the Williams sisters or Tennis.
This incident, though shows what's wrong with modern sports. Coverage wasn't about the event, the match, but Serena Williams' quest to win the most titles.
This is an example of what ESPN has done to sports, character and personality matter more than the game. We are reminded of an All-Star Homerun Derby a few years ago, where ESPN spent the event hyping Josh Hamilton, who went on to lose the derby. Rather than interview the winner, ESPN interviewed Josh Hamilton. We're not even sure who won. Thanks ESPN.
30 for 30 is enjoyable thought.
