Serena Williams is a Mother...

...and a sore loser.

Upon being penalized for and being questioned about being a bad sport Ms. Williams invoked her motherhood.

We weren't surprised.

Motherhood has become a cult in America. Oprah Winfrey called being a mother the hardest job in the world. Comedian Bill Burr replied that one can do it in pajamas. Quite right.

Sorry, Serena, gals. Being a mother is the least interesting thing about you. It's been done billions of times.

Throwing a temper tantrum in front of the planet, now that's interesting.

Sport, bad-Sport

Serena Williams' conduct this weekend was disgusting. There's no excuse for it. One can tell becuase all anyone wants to talk about is 'racism' and 'sexism'.

Here's Christopher 'Mad Dog' Russo, a tennis player and fan, really letting her have it. The man knows what he's talking about.

The Williams Sisters have always been bad sports.

We miss sportsmanship. Here's the infamous play where Lawrence Taylor all but snaps Joe Theisman's leg in two. Watch what he does:

That's sportsmanship.

Congratulations Naomi Osaka...

….Nobody has said, so we thought we would.

The girl was in tears for having the temerity to defeat Serena Williams. As always, M Steyn has it right.

We couldn't care less about the Williams sisters or Tennis.

This incident, though shows what's wrong with modern sports. Coverage wasn't about the event, the match, but Serena Williams' quest to win the most titles.

This is an example of what ESPN has done to sports, character and personality matter more than the game. We are reminded of an All-Star Homerun Derby a few years ago, where ESPN spent the event hyping Josh Hamilton, who went on to lose the derby. Rather than interview the winner, ESPN interviewed Josh Hamilton. We're not even sure who won. Thanks ESPN.
