Bubble Burst

Last Friday a Christian group attended services at our synagogue. This wasn't some old line Yankee denomination, but a local mega church. These are the kind of Christians who believe Jews are people of the book and supporting Israel is God's command.

It was a nice, touching gesture.

Usually we watch events with a certain detachment. When one works at home and writes all day, everyday, one lives inside one's own world.

For us, the weird thing about the Pittsburg shooting is that it's touched us. 

For once we're a member of an aggrieved group. 

Also, Mrs. Stroock has family in Pittsburg and they knew someone killed at Tree of Life.
