This time we have a rogue officer setting himself up as a mountain warlord. Like Kurtz he has seen the enemy and understands what it will take to win. But let's take it a step further. Our officer has heard the call and converted to Islam, Wahabi-Jihadist whack-job Islam and he loathes these Taliban heretics. Now the question is, should our officer be a Yank? Why not a limey? How about a UN Peace Keeper?
Reader(s) who know Will Stroock will know he wants Denis Villeneuve to direct this film. Ryan Gosling should play the warlord. Now whose our straight man? Who's taking us into the mountains? Mathew McConaughey? Or should these two reverse roles?
