If we Ever...

Going through Grote Tankslog. Things are looking ok. We've set the stage for Combined Arms Army, if we ever feel the need to write it, with this paragraph:

General – commanding – had ambushed and all but destroyed the American 2nd Armored Division, laying the ground work for the drive on Bremen and the Battle of the Weser. Red Army Radio talked of the great victory at the top and bottom of every hour, though they did not mention that the Americans had practically annihilated two Soviet divisions before being drawn into the trap.

Note the absence of detail.
