None of our fears about The Mandalorian came to fruition. Stars from films past did not make cameos, though there were star actors aplenty. We worried that The Mandalorian would turn out to be a chick, a Mary Sue, and woke. Nope, nope and nope. We feared metaphorical jabs at Trump, the NRA, Brexit...we feared another Star Wars failure.
Instead we got a series of self-contained episodes, each linked to the last and laying the groundwork for the next. The Mandalorian gave us an adventure of the week, helping a village defend itself, raiding a prison ship. Proving it's space Western credentials, The Mandalorian ended with a cantina standoff that was equal parts the finale of The Wild Bunch and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Don't worry, the Mandalorian comes off better than Butch and Sundance and Season Two is already in production.
