This blog wishes all it's Christian readers a happy Easter.
Every year this date sticks out in our mind and we've gone half a decade or more without realizing why. Today we do. April 12th is the day we asked out our first girlfriend, Kirsten. We reconnected on FB in 2008 and have been in touch ever since. She's a teacher and pointy head academic type and edited a couple of our books.
What's that nice girl doing with that punk 8th grader who was in detention every damn day? Look, authentic Gen-X acid-wash.
On to business.
We're halfway through the Klazienaveen chapter and it looks good. We can't shake the feeling that it's a bit dull, but as they say, so is war. There's a lot of, 'Look! A Mig!' Which is exactly what it would have been like. We still feel some trepidation about using the actual town name. Honestly couldn't we just call it something else but keep the descriptions and street names and whatnot? We still have to write the wrap up which would be no problem.
Yesterday coming up with a short story for the compilation took up a lot of mental space. We don't want to do multiple stories in the same universe. We have one idea but are not sure if we want to go with it. Maybe something in the To Defend the Earth Universe? We'll see. Something spacey anyway.
