The Chindian Chinese-Hebrew Cross-Cultural Kung Flu Matrix

We live in Chindia

Yesterday, a Trump supporting Chinese friend of ours expressed unease with the president's use of the term Chinese Virus. She's right, actually. Trump should say China Virus or CCP Virus or some such.

This friend of ours has been very worried about anti-Chinese backlash. She's actually formed a local Chinese-American group that's raised money for and donated supplies to local hospitals. We've suggested speaking out publicly against little Pooh-Bear in Beijing.

Our friend asked us why Trump called the Wuhan Virus from Wuhan China the Kung Flu, and told us that Kung Fu is an ancient symbol for Chinese culture. We did not know that. It sounds kind of like an Indian Swastika to us, something one see's around here occasionally. We're not prone to Jewish paranoia, but man when we first moved here that was a little disconcerting. Now we're trying to get our hands on an Indian Swastika flag.

Anyway, we explained what Kung Fu means here and that Kung Flu is a perfectly innocent and benign play on words, fun even.

We guess our friend's worry is natural. Heck, you think we don't feel unease about Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein?

Exit, you know where we went:
