We had planned to have B1-B Lancers take a prominent role in World War 1990: The Final Storm. But we've done a little research and in 1990 the Bone, as it was nicknamed, was configured for nuclear strikes only. Converting the B1-B to a conventional role came only after the Cold War. We know what you're thinking, why not just do it anyway? Yeah...but with a bellicose USSR still around, the Pentagon wouldn't have reconfigured the B1-B. Besides, the reconfiguration only came becuase the Air Force needed to show that a strategic bomber could be useful in the post Cold War world.
[Don't get discouraged, Luv-Ed]
Up already after last night's bender?
[The 4th of July is a difficult day for us, you bloody ungrateful Colonial-Ed]
So if we are going to have a section of B1-B bombers, it's gonna be a bunch of guys flying over the arctic and complaining they're bored.
