The Ghosts are Real

Long time reader(s) will recall that the family motorboat, Waterproof is named for our grandmother's hometown of Waterproof, LA.  Our sister claims she came up with the name but this is not true. We did. In any event the naming is part homage, part gesture of obeisance. No matter. She really doesn't like that boat.

Our [dingbat] sister says the throttle malfunctioned. We should say it did. Everyone was ok. She swears that not five minutes before the, um...landing, her husband said, 'You know, this boat is a pain in the ass but it's really good to have it.'

Times like these all you can do is sit on the front stoop and count your Confederate war bonds. Never, ever mess with a southern woman. Never.
