Your Combined Writing and Riot Update for 8/24/20

Good news out of Kenosha , WI. Andy Ngo reports BLM is now in the streets with semi-automatic rifles. Another step towards insurrection and Weimer style private armies is taken. And there were riots in Portland, of course. Also Denver.

We've ordered some books about US Government Cold War era post-apocalypse planning. Interesting stuff, and will add some nice details to The Great Nuclear War of 1975. We're learning lots about The Greenbrier, Ravenrock, etc, etc. So far we can't tell if this new info helps or hurts our general concept. In any case it's making for a better book.

True fact about Rockefeller. The man was a compulsive womanizer, were talking Bill Clinton level here, sans the rape and Pedo island trips. Just look up how Rocky died. Heh. Were humanizing the man with the loss of his family, we think a daughter survives and becomes first lady, not to mention the loss of his estates, his art collection (he loved art as only a rich person with time and mean cans). Just imagine, two days after the war, Air Force One touches down in Casper, the man finally has a moment to himself. His family and fortune are gone, and he's in charge of a shattered nation.

So far what we've read of The Great Nuclear War of 1975 looks pretty good. There's our man waiting to see about his family half a continent away, government plans, government continuity and scenes of nuclear horror of course.

One week (we think) till the release of Seven Stories. First Story, Tye Dye Warrior, a marine leads an ARVN unit in a riverine battle.

No, we won't be watching the GOP convention.

As it happens yesterday was our 22nd Wedding anniversary. Mrs. Stroock and I celebrated by taking the kids to Polar Cub for ice cream. No, we have no advice. Ok, fine, You love 'em in blue and you love 'em in red, but mostly you love 'em in blue. If you get that reference, well, your kung fu is strong.
