If it's Sunday, it's William Stroock

Sometimes we feel like we're staring into the middle distance, considering our options as Turkish soldiers flee before our army, while our native warlord friend insists, 'Damascus, William.'

When we woke yesterday morning our left big toe felt like it was in a vice clamp. It came and went all day and woke us up again last night. A month of this now. Yes, we've been to the doctor three times.

What an outpouring of support and dare we say, love for the president. Contrast that with the fascist hyenas on the left, in the streets, in the press, on the Biden campaign. By the way, a trio of polls show Trump 'within two' nationally. That's more than enough to win even were it the real number. Trump is ahead. Who you going to believe, William Stroock or the fake news? QAnon is always right!

We've been watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind and have never really seen the entire film all at once. Close Encounters was a big deal in the 70's and remained part of the cultural consciousness well into the 80's. The movie has faded, no? Spielberg's strengths are on display and we suppose the movie's contemporary feel is it's greatest asset. There's another time capsule for you. But plot wise, we find it kind of dull. Is it us?

We're gonna try to complete the rough draft of The Great Nuclear War of 1975 this month. It's certainly doable. We made some progress yesterday, actually. We thought we had to write three or four new scenes but it turns out simply rearranging existing scenes took care of the problem. The issues outstanding are well known.

So here's the question. In 1985, just what is life in the United States like? We'll be grappling with this issue all week here at William Stroock dot BlogSpot dot com.
