Monday Metal

Probably Iron Maiden's most underrated song:

We saw them twice on this, the Flight 666 Tour, and it was glorious! Bruce Dickinson introduced the song the same way, but with more verve, 'Revelations!' Duh-Nuh-Nuh, Hey! Duh-Nuh-Nuh-Hey! The video doesn't really capture the feel of being in the arena with 25,000 rabid metalheads doing that chant. Oh, and check the chord progression in the bridge. Really well done.

It was 2008 and by then the metal revival had really lifted off. That Metal Show would air the same year. These were our HS sub days and one would see kids wearing the same black heavy metal T-shirts we used to wear.

Bruce Dickinson is the best singer in metal, we say. Or Judas Priest's Rob Halford. Well, either or. Both have glorious pipes.
