Will Nukes America: The Breakup

We spent the *mostly peaceful protest* working on  a short alternate history piece for a new foreign affairs type website. Fingers crossed.

At the moment we're planning to turn The Great Nuclear War of 1975 into a trilogy. We know the third volume will be several chapters organized around a year ending with the presidential inauguration of 1981, followed by a future history written in 2025.

The question then therefore is how to create the first two volumes. Volume II already has form, it'll end with the presidential Inauguration of 1977. We have a fair idea of where it begins, probably the spring of 1976. That leaves volume I, which is begun splendidly but is right now a mass of text lacking the form of a novel. The end is moist and gooey where it needs to be dry and crunchy.

[Are you on the piss again? -Ed]

No but we could definitely use a drink after yesterday. An Arturo Fuente Short Story too.

Actually, as far as Volume I goes, we think we have it. The operative word is DOWN. The volume descends the depths, the deep trench of the story line, the winter of 1975-76 and ends with Matt crossing the frozen over Hudson. The lowest point. Yes...yes, indeed. There it is.
