Notes on the Super Bowl

-Bruce Arians outcoached Andy Reid. Badly.

-Tom Brady is the greatest ever, but you already knew that. He was definitely the game's MVP.

-As we suspected, the Bucs defensive line made the difference. Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes spent most of the game running for his life and was visibly hurt by the end. It's been a long time since we've seen a QB take a beating like that.

-The Bucs' defensive secondary was all over the Chiefs' receivers. We can think of at least half a dozen tipped passes.

-When the Bucs got their running game going in the second quarter we thought the Chiefs were in trouble and said to Mrs. Stroock, 'They better figure out how to stop the run, quick.'

-Broadcasters Jim Nance and Tony Romo did a fine job. Romo dialed back his schtick a bit, making for a better play by play.

-We liked the The Weekend's halftime show. Not Lady Gaga a few years ago, not Prince singing Purple Rain in the rain, but a solid, professional performance that respected the audience.

-The commercials were mostly solid and not trying too hard to be funny or otherwise impress.

-We enjoyed the game.

  1. If the Giants had any one in the front office that was worth a damn Eli could of won 2 or 3 more super bowls

  2. 2008 is the one that still gets me. They had a great team in 2010 too. For that matter does 1989. Look up the Flipper Anderson Game.
