The Israelis on St. Patrick's Day

True fact: our father is Jewish but our mother was Scots-Presbyterian* and was always told by our grandfather to wear Orange on St. Patrick's Day. The Thompsons got a land grant from Orange Billy after the Battle of the Boyne and immigrated to New York Colony, Orange County, in the 1750s. During the American Rebellion, we were Tories.

The Jerusalem Post says, 'Israel will come under an onslaught of 2,000 rockets and missiles every day during a future war with Hezbollah in Lebanon, OC Home Front Command Maj.-Gen. Uri Gordin warned on Monday. Speaking at the B’Sheva Conference in Jerusalem, Gordin said that some 2,000 rockets and missiles will be fired at Israel every day and will challenge Israel’s military and civil defense capabilities. “Our enemies on the different fronts need to know that if needed, we will activate a powerful military that has never been seen before,” Gordin said.' That end quote is fascinating. We know the Israelis have wonder weapons like Trophy and Iron Dome. What wonder weapons do they have that we don't even know about? The Imams are right. The Jew is clever.

There's also the matter of what the Israelis are willing to do. To that end the Times of Israel reports: Israel has targeted at least 12 ships bound for Syria, most of them transporting Iranian oil, with mines and other weapons, according to a Thursday report. The attacks started in late 2019 and targeted both Iranian vessels, and other ships with Iranian cargo, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing “US and regional officials.” And so life imitates Israel Strikes: War of the Red Sea. Not only is the Jew clever, he is ruthless. That gives us one business reason to do Israel Strikes: War with the Turks this summer. Whatever we come up with may be overtaken by events.

The next event is the 4th Israeli election in two years, taking place this 23rd. Haaretz has a fascinating poll aggregator and coalition builder. Have fun. Haaretz pegs Bibi [Phrasing!-Ed] Why do you know what that is? Anyway Haaretz says Bibi will get 28 seats. We'll call it at 32 as polls usually underestimate Likud. The election is between Bibi and Not-Bibi. The problem is, there is no Not-Bibi just a collection of right and center right guys who aren't Bibi. There is no left. You have to go five slots before you hit a party that would just assume drive the West bank palestinians into Jordan and nuke Gaza, and that party is the Arab Joint List. That means President Rivlin will be compelled to ask Bibi to form the next government.

*We converted.
