We awake in the family lake house on Lake Buel just outside of Great Barrington, Massachusetts. In the name of Kek is the rain ever coming down here. Praise Kek! As a kid we could never sleep the first night here, too excited we were. Our grandmother would be up by 7 and we can still hear her feet shuffling across the hardwood floor in the morning.
A member of this blog's Confederate readership suggests that we show the British exclusively through the East Germans. Which is not a bad idea. But we know almost nothing about the East Germans on the battalion level. The Brits we can do [Barely. He once had Ruppert Smith say 'Fetch a spot of tea for me, would you please?' Knobhead-Ed], right now the Krauts are a stretch. Also we want the chapter to be titled The British, and does that work if we see it through the East Germans? Upon this we shall dwell.
Haiti, who cares?
Bill Roggio reports on the Taliban's offensive in Afghanistan. Read it and...Well, what's one to think? Just what have we been doing there for the last 20 years that the Taliban can begin an offensive and completely undermine the government's base of support in the north? Roggio calls the offensive 'clever'. This blog has a few words in mind for America's military leadership and clever ain't one of them. Could we do better? We couldn't do worse. Yes, we intend to cynically blame Joe when the Taliban raise their banner above the US embassy.
The New York Posts tells us about people being attacked online and in print for the heinous crime of losing weight. We say this as a man who has fought weight gain his entire life and had a 95% arterial blockage, the fat positive crowd are narcissistic morons. We don't shame anybody for being overweight. We know how difficult it is to take the pounds/stones off. Heck, our 23&me DNA test says we're predisposed to be heavier than normal. Losing weight and being healthy is hard. It's harder when you think being morbidly obese is ok.
Wow, the rain actually stopped.
