Okay, now it's Monday

Good Afternoon from the beach.

Alert reader(s) may have noticed that when we posted yesterday we thought it was Monday. A little early for beach brain, no?

We've been coming to this place since the 1970s, it's like home. We'll do a post on that this week.

Yesterday it rained all morning and we sat on the porch sulking like a 13 year old girl who just heard Harry Styles was leaving One Direction [Dude, you know way too much about this stuff-Ed] I have three daughters.

Anyway the sun came out about lunch, and we got in time at the pool and the beach. As always we are tanning well. The sun just loves us. Don't tell us we're not Mediterranean.

Today we got to the beach in the morning and pool in the afternoon. Everyone is sunned out and waterlogged. It's nice that the Stroocklettes are old enough to carry their own chairs. We have pics of us carrying five chairs, two umbrellas and a bag full of beach toys.

We brought some books down, but to tell you the truth we miss the Civil War books we read down here last summer. Remember those? The Myth of the Lost Cause (by a southerner who named his son Jefferson), James McPherson's Jeff Davis, etc etc. You Confederates out there, what is your drink of choice?

We've been able to do a bit of work in the mornings. We cracked open The Final Storm for the first time since April. We're farther along than we thought, 60,000 words, the Roki Tunnel blockbuster is 13,000 altogether. This is going to be a big book.
