Will's Good Idea for the Week of 5/22/22

Boy we fumed about our mask confrontation at the medical lab all day yesterday, and toyed with the idea of calling management, complaining about the encounter, and the employee specifically. Which would have been a dick move. I dunno, maybe that's what it takes. But starting a fight would have triggered events that we cannot foresee or control. We just walked away. Which was prudent.

So Australia held an election, counted the votes, and told us who won within a few hours. France, Canada and Israel have managed to do the same since 2020. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania still hasn't figured out who won the GOP senate primary. This is not normal. Trump won. Believing the 2020 election was fair, honest and open is the conspiracy theory.

We believe that after 10 weeks, sales of The Great Nuclear War of 1975 have peeked and the drop off has begun. In our experience sales fall off 20-25 percent per month till the book joins the backlist, where it and other books support the author in perpetuity. Looking at the numbers for this year, we see 75 has pulled up sales of the World War 1990 series, in some cases by 200-300 percent of a book's backlist sales point. We didn't think growth was possible for the World War 1990 market. We remind ourselves that we are among the best there is at what we do.

And here we are at Will's good idea for the week of 5/22/22, hey look at that. Hmmm....If the 75 series can pull up sales of the 90 series then yet another series will pull up sales of both 75 and 90. We don't really have anything rattling around in the hopper. There's that old Pacific War idea with Japan and Britain fighting one another, not uninteresting. Baaaaa! We have too much on our plate as it is.

Also, what if we put some vignettes in The New American Order about news anchors and camera crews reporting events the night the war began? Not directly related to TNAO's plot, but interesting nonetheless, no? 'I'm live, John, from Falls Point where witnesses claim to have watched dozens of B-52 bombers take off from Barksdale AFB...' Or how about, 'Clark, I see three mushroom clouds where Manhattan used to be...'

The old Putin's War idea has been overtaken by events. Oh well.
