Good morning, Stroock's Books commune, and happy Father's Day. The girls are threatening to do something later. We think we may BBQ tonight, in the American style.
We retrieved the girl's granny (our late father-in-law's second wife) from Newark Airport last night. She'll be staying with us for several weeks. The girls are delighted.
We feel nothing but fear and trepidation on the eve of sending The Weser MS to the publisher. Also, our writer consciousness is nagging us to get on with finishing The Great Salvation of 1976. Actually, we've done everything we can. We even read a print version. Months ago. Which means we should read it again. That's Will's Good Idea for the Week of 6/19/22.
As we said, a magazine we've written for sent out an appeal for ETO articles and despite our misgivings, we find ourselves thinking about ideas. I dunno. Also, we're thinking about the next piece for our new old gig.
Fun fact about The Great Nuclear War of 1975: not one reviewer has mentioned the book's British submarine adventure down in the Falklands. There's a lot more than a submarine adventure in The Great Salvation of 1976. We shrug in the most Mediterranean* way possible.
*Spelled it right on the first try. A rarity.
