Down on a Thursday, and Other Things

Will's new gig. It just seemed like something different and fun we could do in the afternoon. You like baseball? You like the New York Mets? Click on through. [Bonus, there's no Russian collusion-Ed]

Given our new gig, the recent publication of World War 1990: The Weser, and the continued strong sales of The Great Nuclear War of 1975, we should be in a better mood. The Weser already has four 5 Star reviews. It's available on KU now.

But the fact is we're morose, down even. No idea why. We know what this is. [The Thursday Downer?-Ed] That's right. This is so weird, we used to love summertime. Even after we graduated high school. Even after college. Theory, we get down in the summer now because the season lacks the structure a cues of the school year, morning bus stop, evening dance taxi, etc.

War then: 'A senior Biden administration official reportedly believes that reviving the multilateral Iran nuclear agreement would be “highly unlikely” in the near future. The prognosis was made last week by White House National Security Council Middle East coordinator Brett McGurk during a briefing call with a group of think tank experts, according to a report Wednesday by the Axios news site.'

We maintain that the Iranian nuclear program is largely a bluff, like Quebec independence.  Think of everything we know about what Israel has done to the Iranian nuclear program. Now imagine what we don't know. The unknown, unknowns. Of course, two weeks before they killed bin Laden, we were telling a class that we were convinced he was dead. Even an intellect such as ours gets things wrong.

What Will's Watching: Stranger Things. Oldest Daughter wanted to start this with us. We see a lot of 80's things, a lot of references and assumptions that one would only recognize if one was nine when one first saw ET. They're totally channeling ET in the opening episode. We had no idea Winona Ryder had those acting chops. She wouldn't be in Stranger Things if she hadn't been such a big deal in the late 80's, right? Stranger Things works well enough on its own terms. Rating, fine.

We've read through The Great Salvation of 1976 again. Do we call it and send it to editing? In reviews of 75 people are clamoring for the sequel. But 76 is a different kind of novel. It's best to get on with things. Trust in Kek [Still with the Kek?-Ed] and remember that we are among the best there is at what we do. [You still haven't thought up any ideas for 19fortyive-Ed]
